Our response

The Common Good Foundation creates opportunities for serving and giving by partnering with other organisations in the city who are addressing social issues. We call these our inn keepers (see below for explanation). We don't believe in reinventing the wheel and aim to strengthen some of the good work that is already in progress. Instead of creating our own organisations to respond to these social giants, we've decided to get behind existing organisations that are already serving the poor and marginalised and have demonstrated an ability to tackle these issues in developmentally sound and God honouring manner.

We also endeavor to support home-birthed initiatives - projects and ideas that are pioneered by people from within our tribe. The type of support varies depending on the nature of the idea - anything from helping people shape and flesh out their idea into some practical next steps, to providing finance to make the project happen.

Our mission is therefore to provide volunteer and financial resources to organisations (inn keepers) and social entrepreneurs serving the poor and marginalized in Cape Town.

To achieve this we:
1. Develop partnerships with innkeepers
2. Mobilise and equip the church to respond
3. Incubate new initiatives proposed by social entrepreneurs
